| VietNamNet – Out performing 14 products in the final round, network security software created by Trieu Tran Duc, 24, from Hanoi won the first prize of the Vietnam Intelligence 2004 contest on January 1st in Hanoi. | | The first prize winner Trieu Tran Duc (left). | The examiners selected 14 products of the total 165 products of 90 groups and 75 individuals from 23 provinces and cities in Vietnam and six other countries for the final round of the Vietnam Intelligence 2004. Trieu Tran Duc, one of the five high-ranking managers of the Vietnam Hackers Association, won the first prize for his software named “control and network security defence solution – Moon Secure”. Moon Secure is written in three programming languages: Delphi, Visual C++, and Assembler, and is used as a statistic supervision system that can help optimise the use of network resources. At the same time, it works like a firewall with flexible functions to prevent the attacks of hackers and bugs. Moon Secure has been used by organisations at home and abroad. The second prize was presented to product named “Digital environment of Vietnamese hospitals” by the TDHK group from Hanoi, which is now used at 28 hospitals. This group also won the “Enterprises’ Nursery” prize worth VND75mil in sponsorship. Two third prizes went to a CD-ROM called “The great family of Vietnamese ethnic groups” by Namsoft group from Ha Tay Province and “Online training management and exploitation system” by Self-made Group from Hanoi. This group also won the first prize selected by the IT community via the Internet. The organisers presented the energy prize to a product called “Positive security solution for web” by Nguyen Chien Thang, 25, from Hanoi. Three prizes named “Impression”, “Prospect” and “Technology” were presented to the EDC Group’s website for disabled children, the system integration and automatic control group’s solution for automatic interactive applications via telephone, and the Green Bamboo group’s intelligent shopping assistance system.
